Tyto Robotics’ distributor in Thailand, iCreativesystems Co.,Ltd, delivered a Series 1780 thrust stand to King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok last month. The thrust stand was part of a bundle of equipment that the researchers will be using to test various drones and UAV sub-systems.
The research team focuses on autonomous UAV performance for educational purposes. They will use the Series 1780 to test the motors and propellers of several new drones they have acquired, including the Viverlin VL340, the MX1000, and the B.viz.
They will be using and testing several sub-systems including LiDAR-based SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping), Handheld LiDAR for 3D Point Cloud, and flight planning software.
In addition to their equipment, they have also built an impressive safety cage where they will perform electric propulsion tests with the Series 1780. The cage is key for protecting the user in case a propeller breaks.
