UK and Israel aviation regulators sign working arrangement

The UK Civil Aviation Authority and the Civil Aviation Authority of Israel has signed a working arrangement, which will lead to closer collaboration and boosts international trade.

The agreement between the two authorities was signed today (20 April 2023) by Rob Bishton, the UK Civil Aviation Authority’s Interim Joint Chief Executive and Benny Davidor, Director of the Airworthiness Division at the Civil Aviation Authority of Israel.

Both authorities will work closely together to reduce administrative burdens and duplicative efforts by allowing each country to rely on the other’s safety oversight systems.

International trade will also be boosted by the agreement, providing more market opportunities for UK and Israeli aviation and aerospace industries.

The working arrangement provides an overarching framework for enhancing the cooperation between the two authorities and will facilitate the mutual recognition of each other’s aviation products and services.

Rob Bishton, Interim-Joint Chief Executive of the UK Civil Aviation Authority said:

“Working together with our colleagues at the Civil Aviation Authority of Israel is an important part in building our relationships as a worldwide regulator.

“The signing today is the first step in helping to reduce the duplication of activity and to establish the principles enabling the validation or acceptance of certificates.”

“The boost in international trade between the two countries will also be a great opportunity for both the aviation and aerospace sectors.”

Benny Davidor, Director of the Airworthiness Division at the Civil Aviation Authority of Israel said:

“The signing of this aviation working arrangement demonstrates the commitment of both the UK Civil Aviation Authority and the Civil Aviation Authority of Israel to the continued growth and development of the aviation industry, while maintaining the highest level of safety, as well as the importance of international cooperation in reducing the regulatory burden on both industries.”
